Prince Charles Cinema in London will be hosting the screening of the Japanese comedy film "Tampopo."
The film is written and directed by the Japanese actor, screenwriter and film director Juzo Itami and tales the story of two Japanese milk-truck drivers respectively Gorō and Gun, who intend to assist the fledgling business of small family-run noodle shop. The film satirises the way social conventions distort the most natural of human urges and explores the relationship between love and food. The film is considered to be the first ‘ramen western’ films and casts Tsutomu Yamazaki, Nobuko Miyamoto, Koji Yakusho, Ken Watanabe, Fukumi Kuroda, Yoriko Dōguchi, Mariko Okada, Ryūtarō Ōtomo and Rikiya Yasuoka.
